Portrait of Cindy Webb Kent, Helsinki-based communications strategist and PR consultant

I'm a senior communications strategist, journalist and PR consultant with more than twenty years of experience across U.S. national newsrooms, international nonprofits and corporate communications. I'm based in Helsinki and work with clients across Europe and the United States.

My career began at the Associated Press in Los Angeles and continued at The Washington Post, where I created Filter, one of washingtonpost.com's pioneering blogs, covering technology and the early Internet economy. From journalism, I moved into strategic communications, leading earned media campaigns at the Southern Poverty Law Center that drew front-page coverage in The New York Times and exclusives in The Washington Post. More recently I've served as Director of Communications at Amcham Finland, Commercial Advisor at the U.S. Embassy Helsinki, where I led a Finnish trade delegation to the United States and received an Honor Award for the work, and Strategic Communications Lead at Finnish cleantech company Hycamite.

Alongside my consultancy, I'm the founder of Pressora, an AI-powered PR and communications toolkit currently in early access. Building Pressora has deepened my hands-on understanding of where AI genuinely helps communicators and where it doesn't, which I bring directly to client work.

I hold a Master's in International Relations with a focus on EU and NATO affairs, and undergraduate journalism degrees from California Polytechnic State University and Universidad de Sevilla in Spain. I'm a native English speaker, near-fluent in Spanish, and I've studied Finnish language and workplace culture for several years.

Good things happen when people engage, listen and collaborate. I'd love to hear what you're working on.
